Cuenca
I'm finally just about finished with my drawing scene of the city of Cuenca in ecuador. I'm not sure how I would like to finish this one off with color. I'm thinking because of the amount of detail I might have to stick with the easy way out of digitally just adding a few layers of color, but I'm still deciding so I'll be going back to this after I work on some other new things.

"The Grey"
This is a thumb sketch for another illustration inspired by the movie"The Grey". I was very surprised that the movie wasn't made from a book but from a screen write. And I know most people say it wasn't that great of movie but I really loved the symbolism and the poem from his father... "Once more into the fray, into the last good fight I'll ever know, live and die on this day, live and die on this day"-the grey. It's beautiful and so rich in life's meaning. So I'll be stepping away from my children's work for a while to work a little more on this. I want to do a really detailed drawing first before i decide if I even want to color it.

So I did this sketch a while ago like maybe 6 months.. it was a character for a nonprofit organization for a childrens book. This characters name is skillet. I also have some concept sketches... some place or another but I really liked the style of the character and the way that I interpreted him. So, I've decided to start drawing more children, just to see what I can come up with. Preferably children playing or in some kind of action. This should also go great with my new children's portfolio. (just fyi, the childrens book never went through all the way to being published. However I do not regret it because it was a great experience drawing in a direction I never even thought of going before. It also was one of the projects that helped inspire me to start drawing for children books. Just a lesson that nothing that you experience in life never goes to waste! Even though nothing great happened out of it another door opened and I arrived at something even greater)
